The manufacturing of the Viper Kart takes place entirely within OTK Kart Group’s factory, the leading Italian karting company. For more than 30 years the OTK group has been making up and initiating the 'Designed, engineered, manufactured - 100% made in OTK - Italy' philosophy: a 'credo' that has led the company to take the concept of automated production to the extreme, in order to offer its customers the highest quality standards.

Viper Kart rental karts take advantage of the know-how gained by OTK Kart Group as a kart manufacturer in the racing field and share the high-tech workmanship and quality controls used by the company for the manufacturing of the chassis of its most famous brands, Tony Kart above all

OTK Kart Group applies maximum control over the entire design and production chain of the Viper Kart rental kart. OTK Kart Group's rental karts are entirely manufactured within the Italian company's facilities (in Prevalle), sharing many of the production processes used for the racing karts of all OTK Kart Group brands: Tony Kart, Kosmic Kart, Exprit Kart, EOS Kart, Gillard Kart and Redspeed Kart. It is thanks to this completely internal production chain that OTK Kart Group has achieved important sporting results over the years at all levels, both national and international, thanks to its racing team of reference, the Tony Kart Racing Team. OTK Kart Group's R&D Department, therefore, has been able to exploit a solid base for the manufacturing of the Viper Kart, able of guaranteeing product quality and performance, thus optimizing the Viper Kart project looking for solutions that meet the needs of the rental market: such as the carrying out of adequate safety systems, simplified go-kart management, and long-life features.

The manufacturing process

For the manufacturing of the Viper Kart rental kart chassis and its components, OTK Kart Group uses the most advanced automated machinery, to guarantee the highest standards in both production and quality. What does a go-kart look like? For example, tube laser cutting machines and electric tube bending machines with controlled deformation are used to manufacture the frame of a Viper Kart rental kart. The resulting tubes are then used to make up the chassis using an innovative welding technique that allows OTK to offer the public products with higher durability.

What are the materials of a go-kart?

The choice of raw materials plays a fundamental role in the production of a top quality product. In this sense OTK rigorously select the manufacturing materials of the Viper Kart rental kart, choosing the right material for each component according to its application. The frame of the Viper Kart, for example, is made of a specific chrome-molybdenum steel alloy, a material that has proven its excellent qualities in terms of performance and solidity. For the components aluminum is mostly used. Whereas, for the innovative safety system of the rental karts with double protection, polyzene is now used for the fairings and polyurethane for the shock-absorption system. Furthermore, although it is more common in racing-type karts, OTK Kart Group also uses ergal and forged material for the spare parts of the Viper Kart, so to give its rental kart the highest possible mechanical resistance.

Quality checks

To guarantee the high quality standards of the Viper Kart, OTK Kart Group runs strict quality controls: on materials, at each step of the manufacturing process, and on finished products. OTK Kart Group’s technicians have rooms equipped with state-of-the-art devices. For example, at the end of the manufacturing process of Viper Kart frames, checks are carried out both through special jigs and through the use of 3D scanners.
