Honda GX Engines

The range of the 4-stroke engines selected by OTK Kart Group is designed and built to last long, while ensuring excellent performance

The Viper Kart can be equipped with internal combustion engines. In particular, OTK makes available the 4-stroke kart engines of the Honda GX line. These are petrol-powered engines that feature an air-cooling system. In addition, Honda GX engines have proven to be the best for rental karts, thanks to their reliability that has made them, over time, the main choice for many indoor and outdoor track owners, thanks also to the minimal vibrations produced and their ability to reduce noise pollution. OTK Kart Group allows its customers to choose for the Honda GX160 and GX200 engines, for the Viper Kart Junior, while for the Viper Kart Senior they can choose between the Honda GX 270 engine, the most popular choice, and the GX390 engine, the most powerful of the range. All engines are supplied with the relevant assembly kit and feature a self-winding starter, while on request they can also be equipped with an electric starter system. Honda GX160

This is the least powerful engine available, although it provides a good power-to-cylinder ratio. The Honda GX 160 cc engine is particularly suitable for the smaller drivers. The Honda GX160 engine has a displacement of 163 cm3, a power output of 4.8 hp (3.6 kW) at 3,600 rpm and torque of 10.3 Nm at 2,500 rpm. Its dry weight is 15.1 kg. It can also be equipped with an RPM limiter. How fast is a 160 cc kart? It is good to know that the maximum speed of the Viper Kart Junior is set by the European standard UNI EN16230, which regulates safety requirements for rental karts.

Honda GX200

It is the most powerful engine available for the Viper Kart Junior. The Honda GX200 engine shares the same structure as the GX160, but is around 20% more powerful in terms of net power. Moreover, like all engines of the Honda GX range, it delivers excellent performance with limited fuel consumption. The Honda GX200 engine has a displacement of 196 cm3, a power output of 5.8 hp (4.3 kW) at 3,600 rpm and torque of 12.4 Nm at 2,500 rpm. Its dry weight is 16.1 kg. It can also be equipped with an RPM limiter. How fast is a 200 cc kart? The same as for the GX160 engine.

Honda GX270

The Honda GX270 engine is the 'base' engine for the Viper Kart Senior and is certainly one of the most popular rental kart engines for both outdoor and indoor use. But that's not all: it is also among the best go-kart engines for adults. In fact, this engine represents the perfect compromise between reliability, performance and easy maintenance. The Honda GX270 engine has a displacement of 270 cm3, a power output of 8.4 hp (6.3 kW) at 3,600 rpm and torque of 19.1 Nm at 2,500 rpm. Its dry weight is 25.8 kg. It can also be equipped with an RPM limiter. How fast is a 270 cc kart? Again, as far as the maximum speed of the Viper Kart Senior is concerned, reference can be made to the European standard UNI EN16230, which regulates safety requirements for rental karts.

Honda GX390

It is the most powerful engine (but also the heaviest) available for the Viper Kart Senior. The Honda GX390 engine is, in fact, about 40% more powerful in terms of net power than the Honda GX270 engine: this, however, resulted in an increase in dry weight of about 6 kg. By far, it is the most powerful 4-stroke engine available for the Viper Kart Senior model. The Honda GX390 engine has a displacement of 389 cm3, a power output of 11.7 hp (6.3 kW) at 3,600 rpm and torque of 26.5 Nm at 2,500 rpm. Its dry weight is 31.7 kg. It can also be equipped with an RPM limiter. How fast is a 390 cc kart? The answer is simple: the same as for the GX270 engine.
